John Dickson

John’s career spans music, media, and scholarship. Formerly a professional singer-songwriter, he is now an author, speaker, historian, and media presenter. He hosts Undeceptions, Australia’s leading Christian podcast with a growing US and UK audience, and has presented four television documentaries, most recently The First Hymn: Resurrecting a Song Buried for Millennia (2025).

John has published more than 20 books, including Bullies and Saints (2021). He is the Jean Kvamme Distinguished Professor of Biblical Studies and Public Christianity at Wheaton College, having previously held academic posts at Macquarie University, the University of Sydney, Ridley College Melbourne, and the University of Oxford.

He lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with his wife Elizabeth and the youngest of their three children.
